Why Halfmens?

 

We started of in 2008 on the grass terraces of ELKOWERU GUEST HOUSE as a birthday Party. The artists was singer/songwriter Gian Groen. In 2009 we had the official Branding of HALFMENSrockfest with 5 bands, including exposure for one local band.

The festival was dated with one partners birthday as the birth of the new festival HALFMENSrockfest.

Finance was provided by the 3 partner team and some sponsors from local establishments in Namaqualand. The partner trio 2009 HALFMENSrockfest was not only the start of a lifelong dream but an event which we believe will grow into the largest festival ever in the Northern Cape. In 2009 HALFMENSrockfest ticket sales was assisted by Computicket with radio exposure, advertisement and sales all over SA.

2010 showed us that a great opportunity was presenting itself with more than 9 performances over 2 days. The we decided that HALFMENSrockfest must not fit one genre because we aim for more heights in the future. So now we are known as HALFMENS Music & Arts. More spoken as HALFMENS.

We aim to be the only rock-fest in the Northern Cape.
We aim to have the reputation of the festival with SOUL.
We aim to have talented musicians of SA on the stage.
We aim to help upcoming artists get exposure to the industry.
We aim to give all local industries advertising opportunity.
We aim to boost the local tourism income of Namaqualand through alternative attractions.
We aim to expose people to soul and tranquility that nature forms at the center of our human being.
