Bushwhacker’s unique location, Fiddlers Creek Campsite is perfect to host events and celebrations. For the past 10 years, we have successfully hosted the popular Annual New Years Bush Bash. Other events have been the Sticks n Stones Festival and this year we start the Halfmens Festival. (more information on the Halfmens Festival coming shortly)

We have also hosted numerous 21st Birthday parties, themed celebrations and weddings.

In Bushwhacked style, we host the best party. Open skies, awesome weather and great people.

EVENTS: NEW YEARS TRIP 2011 – 2012

What is “BUSH BASH” …… ?
Every year, we throw a New Years Bush Bash to celebrate the year that has passed and to welcome the new year.

Can you imagine a more idyllic setting than the Orange River to do so. Combined with some physical activity (4 days of River Rafting) – culminating with a party back at base camp – Fiddlers Creek.

Throw in a Spit Braai – some amazing people – warm2hot weather – and top it with 2 Bands (Blackstoneradio & AlterEgo) and DJ vibing the tunes – you have yourself a winner of a party.

We have been doing this for the last 10 years plus and every Bash has been a
party to remember.

Complete Package: R2 725 per person: 27 Dec – 1 Jan

After breakfast has been served, you will have a safety speech from our lead guide.
Thereafter we will commence with packing.
Each member will receive a dry bag from Bushwhacked to pack your clothes, etc Late morning we will launch and begin our expedition down the river. Lunch and Dinner served – Half days paddling

You don’t have to do the full package – why not come for the party only…

In order to book for New Year, we require full payment for camping ,beforehand to confirm booking, as we are very busy over New Year.

Package Rates:
- R100 pp for party only
- R150 pp for party & camping
- extra R75 pp for Spit braai

Please note that on the 31st of December, it is possible that other people will be camping on your site as well. We are very full on that night and no specific sites is allocated “camp where you find a spot” will apply for the night of the 31st of Dec.

To book:
1. Complete a booking form and email or fax back to us.
2. Pay your 25% deposit and email or fax proof of payment with your booking form
3. Balance must be paid on or before 27 November 2011
4. Indemnity forms must be handed in upon arrival – you cannot go on the trip without one
5. Passports are VERY important.

1 in 23 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime – a new case is diagnosed every 2 hours.
One man dies from prostate cancer every 7 hours.
This year 4000 men will be diagnosed and  2500 will lose their lives to the disease.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men.

What is prostate cancer?
Only men have a prostate gland. It is the size of a walnut and its main function is to help make semen.
The prostate is underneath the bladder and surrounds the tube that men pass urine through (the urethra).

Normally the growth of all cells is carefully controlled in the body. As cells die, they are replaced in an orderly fashion. Cancer can develop when cells start to grow in an uncontrolled way. If this happens in the prostate gland, prostate cancer can develop.

Prostate cancer can grow slowly or very quickly. Most prostate cancer is slow-growing to start with and may never cause any symptoms or problems in a man’s lifetime. However, some men will have cancer that is more aggressive or ‘high risk.’ This needs treatment to help prevent or delay it spreading outside the prostate gland.

Signs and symptoms of prostate cancer
Men with prostate cancer may have no symptoms at all. If a man does have symptoms, they may be mild and happen over many years. When they do occur, symptoms can be similar to non-cancerous prostate problems such as benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) or prostatitis. For some men the first noticeable symptoms are from prostate cancer which has spread to their bones.

The following may be signs of a prostate problem such as prostate cancer:

A weak urine flow

Needing to urinate more often, especially at night

A feeling that your bladder has not emptied properly

Difficulty starting to pass urine

Dribbling urine

Needing to rush to the toilet

On Movember 1st, guys register at Movember.com with a clean-shaven face and then for the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.

Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November and through their actions and words raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.

At the end of the month, Mo Bros and Mo Sistas celebrate their gallantry and valor by either throwing their own Movember party or attending one of the infamous Gala Partés held around the world by Movember, for Movember.

All money raised goes to CANSA. You can only grow a Snorry and nothing else. HALFMENS will also be doing a 114km Cycle trip from Aggeneys to Springbok, getting sponsored per kilometer so add to this Movember Action we are taking.
